Seven countries consult Iran before nuclear talks

On the eve of the nuclear talks between the US and Iran, the leaders of seven countries in the region have been in contact with official Tehran.

Axar.az reports that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said this in a statement to the local press.

The minister noted that the main difference between the current negotiations and the process in 2013-2015 is the serious participation of the countries of the region in the issue:

"Before the start of the last round of negotiations, the leaders of seven countries of the region had a telephone conversation with Mr. President Massoud Pezeshkian. They discussed the negotiations, made proposals, and asked Iran for a positive response. These countries are Turkey, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, and Azerbaijan."

The Foreign Minister added that this initiative of the countries of the region played an important role in reducing tensions and encouraging the parties to negotiate:

"We respect their goodwill and sincere efforts."
