Russia has mutually beneficial cooperation with both Armenia and Azerbaijan across virtually all areas and intends to continue developing these ties, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said at a briefing, commenting on U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance’s trip to the South Caucasus and statements by the three countries about plans for large-scale joint projects.
Axar.az informs, citing TASS, “We have a vast range of bilateral relations with both Baku and Yerevan that cover all possible areas,” he noted.
“This includes mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation, mutual investments, and cultural relations.”
“And of course, we intend to further develop these relations with our partners so that they are beneficial not only for us, but also for them,” Peskov added.
He also stated thar Armenia and Azerbaijan are sovereign states and therefore have the full right to build relations with any countries, including the United States.
During Vance’s visit, the United States and Azerbaijan signed a strategic partnership agreement. In Armenia, Vance signed a nuclear cooperation deal with a country that operates an Soviet-era nuclear power plant and is seeking to commission a new one.
