Markov: A peace agreement can be signed today

Today, Russian President Putin will mediate negotiations between Azerbaijan's leader Aliyev and Armenia's Prime Minister Pashinyan. Pashinyan admitted that Karabakh is Azerbaijan. Therefore, a peace treaty is possible. But there are three competing platforms: Russia, the EU, USA.

Axar.az reports that this was said by Russian political scientist Sergei Markov.

"Pashinyan wants to separate Armenia from Russia and sign a peace treaty mediated by the EU, in which France plays a leading role. France is the most pro-Armenian country in the world. Azerbaijan and Armenia show respect to Russia, the United States, and the EU and hold negotiations in three places. Today it is Russia's turn. The difference between Russia and the US and the EU is that Russia wants stable peace on its borders. For the USA and the EU, the main issue is not peace, but Russia's entry into the region for oppression and manipulation," he said.
