On September 22, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov co-chaired the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) - "Group of 77" and the Chinese Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) within the framework of his participation in the high-level week of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York and spoke at the event.

In his speech, Jeyhun Bayramov said that the resumption of JCC activity after 9 years is a historic event, that during Azerbaijan's NAM chairmanship, revitalization of JCC is one of the priority areas of its activity, and thanks to fruitful cooperation with colleagues from Cuba, our country was able to organize the meeting of JCC. He pointed out that he has achieved.
The Minister stated that at the Ministerial Meeting of the NAM, Liaison Bureau held in Baku in July this year, the member countries reaffirmed the need to strengthen the coordination between NAM and the "Group of 77" and China in order to increase the role of developing countries in international economic, trade and financial issues. noted. In this regard, Azerbaijan is looking forward to the holding of the "Group of 77" and China's Third South Summit and the Nineteenth Summit of NAM in January 2024 in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda, and this will be the South-South Summit between the "Group of 77" and NAM within the framework of the JCC. It was emphasized that he demonstrated that he would further strengthen the Southern Cooperation.
The minister also said that at the 2023 Ministerial meeting held in Baku, NAM member countries agreed to work with the "Group of 77" and China on the establishment of a UN Specialized Agency for South-South cooperation, which will be headquartered in a developing country. It was pointed out that South-South Cooperation reflects the joint activities of developing countries to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN based on the principle of solidarity.
