In 2010-2012, the Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, Eka Tkeshelashvili, sent a congratulatory letter to President Ilham Aliyev.

Axar.az presents the text of the letter:

"Dear Mr. President!

I congratulate you on the historic achievement of your beautiful country regaining its sovereignty. This event is also the restoration of historical justice. Azerbaijan has suffered from occupation for many years, and hundreds of thousands of citizens could not return to their homes for a long time.

It is commendable that at a time of instability in the world, thanks to your leadership and perseverance, Azerbaijan was able to restore sovereignty and territorial integrity, restore the confidence of the people whose rights were violated, put an end to the occupation, and set a precedent for resolving conflicts.

Despite the difficulties caused by the occupation, Azerbaijan has always supported strategic partners such as Georgia and Ukraine in times of crisis when they were in need.

It is an honour to see the achievements of your policies that ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens of Azerbaijan, create an example of a successful multicultural and multinational society, and contribute to regional and global security.

I wish you success in your work.

I ask you to accept my highest regards."
