Azerbaijan's decision not to participate in the planned meeting in Granada is its sovereign right.
Axar.az reports that this was stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Maria Zakharova.
"It is the sovereign right of every country to determine its position and policy. In the present case, we are talking about a meeting in which we will not participate anyway. Therefore, I do not consider it necessary to comment on the decisions of the parties. Moreover, Baku regularly explains all its steps and expresses its attitude in an informative manner," he stressed.
It should be noted that the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev refused to go to Spain, where the meeting with the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan was to be held with the participation of the leaders of the European Union, France and Germany. The reason for this is the destructive position of France, which is a participant in the planned five-party meeting, as well as the disagreement between Paris and Berlin regarding Turkiye's participation in the meeting.
