Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office has demanded that Benny Gantz, Chairman of the National Unity Party, return 70,000 shekels (19,000 dollars) to the state treasury. This amount was used to cover the costs of Gantz's trips to the US and the UK in March when he was a minister.

Axar.az reports that this information was provided by Israel's Channel 13.

Netanyahu's letter to Gantz stated that the trips were not approved by him, and therefore the money should be returned.

According to government policy, the Prime Minister must approve foreign trips for other ministers.

In response, Gantz's office stated that his visit to Washington, where he met with high-level US officials including Vice President Kamala Harris, was crucial for Israel's security.
