As the Western Azerbaijan Community, we firmly reject the completely inaccurate and unacceptable statements made by French President Emmanuel Macron at the UN General Assembly on September 25, 2024, regarding Azerbaijan's alleged "pressure" on Armenia and "territorial tensions."

Axar.az reports that this was stated in a declaration by the Community.

"It is a highly hypocritical stance for the French leadership, which supported the thirty-year occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia, turned a blind eye to the expulsion of one million Azerbaijanis from Armenia and occupied Azerbaijani territories, and opposed steps taken for the peaceful resolution of the conflict, to now refer to peace and international law. It should be noted that the UN General Assembly, where Macron is currently displaying hypocrisy, witnessed France's attempts to obstruct the adoption of a relevant resolution aimed at resolving the conflict in 2008."

It is clear that France, with its imperialist agenda, is dissatisfied with Azerbaijan resolving the conflict in accordance with international law and restoring its sovereignty and territorial integrity. This limits France's ability to interfere in the region's affairs. Macron is sending large amounts of weapons to Armenia to provoke conflict again in the region and is trying to create the impression of tension through international platforms, such as information preparation. The slanders he directs at Azerbaijan also serve this purpose.

"We demand that France abandon this destructive intention, immediately cease sending weapons to Armenia, refrain from interfering in the region's affairs, and not hinder peace. At the same time, we call on Armenia not to be a tool in France's game, to stop its large-scale armament program, to focus on achieving peace with Azerbaijan, and to create conditions for the return of Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia," the statement emphasizes.
