Turkiye's RPP Leader Ozal Congratulates Azerbaijani President on Victory Day

On November 8, Ozgur Ozal, the Chairman of Turkiye's Republican People's Party (RPP), called Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

According to the Azerbaijani Presidential Press Service, Ozal congratulated President Aliyev and the Azerbaijani people on the restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and the fourth anniversary of victory in the 44-day Patriotic War. He also wished mercy for the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for the homeland.

“We rejoiced in the liberation of Karabakh as much as we did for the liberation of our own lands,” said the party leader, recalling Atatürk’s words: “The sorrow of Azerbaijan is our sorrow, its joy is our joy.”

Ozal emphasized that the RPP had always defended Azerbaijan in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the Socialist International.

President Ilham Aliyev thanked for the call and congratulatory messages. He noted that there had been some misunderstandings in the past, but they remained in the past. The President emphasized that cooperation between the New Azerbaijan Party and the RPP is moving in a positive direction.
