The tricolor flag raised at the State Flag Square has entered the Guinness World Records for its size.

Axar.az reports that this information was provided by Efsane Mehdiyeva, head of the press service of the Seaside Boulevard Administration.

According to her, before the State Flag Square was closed for renovations, the record was set for the height of the flagpole:

"Currently, the new certificate is related to the size of the flag raised at the State Flag Square. The width of the flag is 36 meters, and the length is 72 meters. The entry into the Guinness World Records was officially confirmed two days ago. The total weight of the flag exceeds 500 kilograms."

It should be noted that on November 8, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, and their son Heydar Aliyev visited the State Flag Square in Baku. The President raised the tricolor flag of Azerbaijan there.
