The Mehri Corridor or the Zangezur Corridor is the main strategic goal for Turkiye and Azerbaijan, both for the present and the coming years.

Axar.az reports that Armenian political scientist Varuzhan Geghamyan stated this.

He noted that if the corridor is realized, the Turkiye-Azerbaijan partnership would resolve three major issues:

A complete land border between Turkiye and Azerbaijan would finally be established, making Turkiye the dominant power in the South Caucasus.

Turkiye would unite with the Turkic world, turning it into a regional superpower (referred to as "neo-panturkism").

It would cut off southern Armenia and effectively turn the territory of Armenia into an enclave, making the country completely dependent on Turkiye.

According to him, Turkiye is the main beneficiary of the corridor project.
