Ruben Vardanyan should be held accountable not only for his actions in Karabakh but also for his involvement in Ukraine and financing Russia’s aggression.

Axar.az reports that this statement was made by Anna Skorokhod, a member of the Ukrainian Parliament and Chair of the Temporary Investigation Committee of the Verkhovna Rada.

She reminded that last year, over 120 MPs from Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, and Romania signed a collective letter to the Nobel Committee demanding Vardanyan be removed from the list of nominees.

"Vardanyan is Putin's wallet, a sponsor of aggression against Ukraine, and a former leader of the illegal separatist organization in Karabakh. I hope official Baku will remember that this man deserves punishment not only for his involvement in the aggression against Karabakh but also for financing the 21st century’s top dictator in his actions against Ukraine," she stated.

“If the US, EU, and Ukraine have proposed or imposed sanctions on Vardanyan, then Azerbaijan must also apply real punishment to him. He has proven time and again, in various countries, that he deserves it."
