Azerbaijan begins execution of pardon order

Azerbaijan has begun to execute the pardon order signed Thursday by President Ilham Aliyev.

Under the order, 137 people, sentenced to imprisonment, have been freed from serving the remainder of the prison term.


Moreover, six people were freed from the remainder of the correctional labor and five people were freed from the penalty in the form of a fine.

Among the pardoned are well-known persons such as Tofig Yagublu, Yadigar Sadigov, Rasul Jafarov, Rashadat Akhundov, Akif Muradverdiyev, Anar Mammadli, Siraj Karimli, Nemet Panahli, Parviz Hashimli, Hilal Mammadov, Taleh Khasmammadov, Rashad Hasanov, Omar Mammadov, and Mammad Azizov.
There are also some foreigners among the pardoned inmates.
