Syrian children draw the war: exhibition in Aleppo

An exhibition "Children Draw the War" opened in Syria’s Aleppo. The drawings prove that children "even more than adults want peace, want to live, to study, want the have the world free of wars," a representative of Aleppo’s Administration Rana Yusef said at the opening ceremony.

Axar.az reports citing TASS that the exposition is organized by the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties and by the local Administration. At the opening, the participants and guests mourned over the war victims.

"We do not want war," the exhibition’s participant Mohammad Said told TASS. "We want peace, so that our generation becomes builders, scientists, and doctors."

A school student Hayat said she has "drawn how parents are sorrowful when their houses are destroyed." She drew injured Syrian soldiers, a closed school, when the militants would not allow children to go.
Another participant Mustafa Deich said he realized clearly, who was helping his country in fighting terrorism. "I have drawn our school, and there is a flag of Russia, which has helped us," he explained.

A representative of the Russian Center Alexander Potyanikhin liked a drawing of the Sun: it is about the future. "Some of the drawings already have pigeons, symbols of peace and hope - our hope, the hope of the Syrian children that the peace would prevail here," he said.
