Four years have passed since the second missile attack on the city of Ganja by the Armenian Armed Forces during the Patriotic War.

Axar.az reports that on the morning of October 5, 2020, Azerbaijan's second-largest city was targeted from the Berd region of Armenia.

Missiles struck near the Ganja International Hospital, Secondary School No. 34, a furniture factory on Shah Ismayil Khatai Street, the area known as "Yevlakh Bus Station," and the Central Market. As a result, 3 civilians sustained various degrees of injuries and were hospitalized, while significant damage was inflicted on civilian infrastructure.

On October 5, the Armenian Armed Forces also launched two missiles at the city of Beylagan. One of the shells landed in the yard of a kindergarten, and the other in an empty area within the city. On that day, the military-political leadership of the aggressor Armenia continued its terrorist acts against civilians, flagrantly violating the norms and principles of international law.

From the morning of October 5, 2020, the enemy's armed forces not only targeted Ganja and Beylagan but also shelled densely populated areas in the Goranboy, Goygol, Tartar, Zardab, and Barda regions.

As a result of the armed forces of the occupying country once again shelling areas densely populated by peaceful Azerbaijani civilians with heavy artillery, missiles struck the central streets of Barda city and the vicinity of the District Central Hospital. Shakhriyar Mehdiyeva was martyred from the shrapnel of a missile shell, and three others were hospitalized with various degrees of bodily injuries. Significant damage was also inflicted on the infrastructure. A criminal case has been initiated in connection with all these facts under the relevant articles of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code.

It should be noted that during the Second Karabakh War, a total of 93 civilians lost their lives due to Armenia's military aggression, including 12 children and 27 women, while 454 civilians were injured. In total, 12,292 residential and non-residential buildings and 288 vehicles were damaged, and 1,018 cases of damage to farms were identified.

The Barda region and city center were subjected to missile and heavy artillery attacks by the Armenian Armed Forces three times (on October 5, 27, and 28) during the Second Karabakh War. As a result, 29 people were martyred, 112 were injured, and significant damage was inflicted on civilian infrastructure and vehicles in the region.
