Azerbaijani judoka Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) qualified for the final of the VI Islamic Solidarity Games held in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh.

Axar.az reports that he defeated Tajikistan's Abubakr Sherov by ippon in the semifinals.

With this result, H. Heydarov secured at least a silver medal.

Azerbaijani judoka Hidayat Heydarov won a gold medal at the VI Islamic Solidarity Games held in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh.

The athlete, who competed in the 73-kilogram weight category, defeated Shakram Ahmadov from Uzbekistan in the decisive match.

With this, H. Heydarov became a two-time winner of the Islamic Solidarity Games. He also climbed to the top of the podium at a similar competition held in Baku in 2017.
