UEFA fines Fenerbahce and Viktoria Plzen

After the UEFA Europa League Round 4 match between Fenerbahce and Viktoria Plzen, both teams have been fined.

Axar.az reports, ciitng Turkish media, Viktoria Plzen fans displayed a banner showing a soldier with the words “There must be war with the Turks” written in Czech. UEFA considered the banner to be racially discriminatory and fined the club €15,000.

Fenerbahce was fined €78,500 for the club’s misconduct, damage to the stadium, lighting of flares, and throwing of objects onto the pitch.
