A difficult match may await us tomorrow.

Axar.az reports that French national team player Ibrahima Konate said this at the press conference held in Baku ahead of their 2026 World Cup qualifier against the Azerbaijan national team.

He said they want to return from Baku with points:

“We want to enjoy the match and return to our country with points. Azerbaijan surprised us in the first game. To be honest, we struggled in that match. But we also have our own goals in Baku. We will fight for them. The final decision on the lineup will be made by our head coach.”

It should be noted that the Azerbaijan–France match will kick off at 21:00 on November 16 at Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium.
