The Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) suspended the activities of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC).

Axar.az reports that the reason for this is that the Olympic Councils of the "Donetsk People's Republic", "Luhansk People's Republic", Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions are part of the ROK. Mark Adams, the head of the press service of the IOC, said that the activities of the ROK have been suspended until further notice:

"This decision means that the ROK can no longer function as a National Olympic Committee and receive financial support from the Olympic movement."

It should be noted that the Olympic Councils of "The Donetsk People's Republic", "Luhansk People's Republic", Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions became members of the Russian Olympic Committee on October 5.
