Erdogan, Trump discuss Syria, Gaza in phone call

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and US President Donald Trump held a phone conversation.

Axar.az reports that this was announced by the Communication Directorate of the Turkish Presidency.

“The phone call covered Turkiye–US relations as well as regional and global events.

Erdogan emphasized the importance of Syria’s unity and territorial integrity and noted that Turkiye is closely monitoring developments there. The leaders also discussed the fight against ISIS and the situation of ISIS detainees in Syria.

They also talked about efforts to establish peace in Gaza. Erdogan reaffirmed Turkiye's readiness to work in coordination with the US and thanked President Trump for the invitation to the Gaza Peace Council,” the statement said.
