Putin says Russia ready to send $1bn to Peace Council

Russia has received an invitation to join the “Peace Council” from U.S. President Donald Trump and is grateful for the offer, President Vladimir Putin said during a working meeting with permanent members of Russia’s Security Council.

Axar.az informs “We have indeed received a personal message from the President of the United States, Donald Trump, inviting us to join a new international body being created on his initiative,” Putin said, adding “First of all, I would like to thank the U.S. president for this proposal.”

“Even now, before we decide on our participation in the composition and work of the ‘Peace Council,’ and given Russia’s special relationship with the Palestinian people, we could, I believe, allocate $1 billion from Russian assets that were frozen under the previous U.S. administration,” the president noted.
