Peace without security guarantees would achieve nothing

Serious questions still remain about how willing Russia truly is to step back from its maximalist demands.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by German government spokesperson Steffen Meyer while commenting on the meeting held in Abu Dhabi between representatives of Russia and Ukraine.

“If a peace agreement ultimately only gives Russia a chance to catch its breath and creates conditions for launching new attacks later on, then nothing will have been achieved. That is precisely why we must focus on the issue of security guarantees,” Meyer noted.
