Vance Feb trip to Azerbaijan, Armenia sparks interest

U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement that Vice President James DeVance will visit Azerbaijan and Armenia in February has attracted significant attention.

Axar.az reports that the views of Armenian political analyst Suren Sarkisyan on the topic have drawn particular interest in the Armenian public.

The analyst noted that before Trump’s meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, DeVance’ visit to Baku had not been on the agenda:

“Only a visit to Armenia was expected. However, after the meeting, what happened made visits to both countries relevant. The U.S. vice president’s visit to Baku should be closely watched,” he said.
