Kazakhstan allocates 1.1 billion tenge for Caspian Sea research

The government of Kazakhstan has allocated 1.1 billion tenge (approximately 2.5 million dollars) for the study and protection of the Caspian Sea.

Axar.az informs the government press service of Kazakhstan reported that, to comprehensively study and protect the Caspian Sea and support the ecological sustainability of the region, 1.1 billion tenge has been allocated from the state reserve to the Kazakh Scientific Research Institute of the Caspian Sea.

The funding will help improve the institute’s scientific capacity. The funds are intended for the purchase of equipment for marine monitoring and the outfitting of hydrobiological and hydrochemical laboratories.
