Durov says Russia opened terror case to curb free speech

Pavel Durov said that Russian authorities had accused him of “assisting terrorism” and opened a criminal case against him, using what he described as fabricated pretexts to restrict access to Telegram and suppress privacy and freedom of speech.

Axar.az reports that “This is a pitiful picture of a state that is afraid of its own people,” Durov stated.

It should be noted that the actions of Telegram founder Pavel Durov are being investigated in Russia as part of a criminal case related to the promotion of terrorist activities.
