Trump appoints VP Vance to lead ‘war on fraud’

US President Donald Trump appointed his vice president JD Vance to lead a "war on fraud" as he railed against alleged abuses of government benefits in Democratic-controlled states -- particularly Minnesota.

Axar.az informs Trump claimed Somali fraud is up to $19 billion in Minnesota, greater than has previously been reported. He said it was "the kind of corruption that shreds the fabric of a nation."

“I am officially announcing the war on fraud, to be led by our great Vice President JD Vance,” Trump said.

Trump suggested the efforts to tackle fraud could be used to balance the federal government's budget.

Note that, there has been a major fraud controversy in Minnesota involving social welfare programs and Somali‑run organizations, especially in the “Feeding Our Future” case, where federal prosecutors charged dozens of people with stealing funds meant for child‑nutrition programs during the COVID‑19 pandemic.
