5.3-magnitude earthquake strikes near Kuril islands

A strong 5.3-magnitude earthquake was recorded near the Kuril Islands.

Axar.az reports that this was announced by the Russian Academy of Sciences Unified Geophysical Service.

The tremors occurred about 380 km southwest of the city of Severo-Kurilsk.

The earthquake’s epicenter was located at a depth of 53 kilometers.
