First casualty reported among Armenian community in Iran

The Armenian community in Iran has recorded its first civilian fatality following recent military activity in the region.

Axar.az reports, citing Armenian media, Aram Shahnazaryan, the editor-in-chief of the Tehran-based Armenian daily newspaper Alik, the victim has been identified as Hovhannes Simonyan.

Simonyan, a resident of the New Julfa district in Isfahan, was reportedly killed on March 26, 2026, while inside his office.

Shahnazaryan added that the death occurred as a result of U.S.-Israeli fire.
