US Air Force plane makes emergency landing in Turkiye

A US Air Force transport aircraft made an emergency landing in Turkiye after declaring an in-flight emergency, according to an air traffic control source.

Axar.az informs, citing TASS, the Boeing C-17A Globemaster III had taken off near the Greek island of Kos and issued a distress signal while flying through Turkish airspace. The aircraft subsequently proceeded to land, though the cause of the emergency was not disclosed.

Flight tracking systems also confirmed the incident, showing the crew had transmitted the 7700 squawk code, a universal signal indicating an emergency on board.
