The United States has allowed the purchase of Russian oil loaded onto tankers until May 16.

Axar.az informs that the general license granting this permission was published on the website of the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

The document states that transactions involving the sale, delivery, or unloading of Russian oil and petroleum products loaded onto any vessels, including blocked ships, before 00:01 on April 17, 2026 (U.S. Eastern Time), are permitted.

Previously, U.S. authorities had allowed the sale of Russian oil and petroleum products only if they were loaded onto vessels before March 12.
