Pegasus flight makes emergency landing in Bucharest

A Pegasus Airlines flight operating on the Saint Petersburg–Istanbul route was forced to make an emergency landing in Bucharest after a passenger’s condition suddenly deteriorated.

Axar.az reports that the Airbus A321 aircraft had departed from Pulkovo Airport when it issued a distress signal approximately 2.5 hours into the flight.

Following the emergency landing in Bucharest, medical teams boarded the aircraft to assess the passenger’s condition and consider hospitalization.

It is noted that due to European Union restrictions imposed since 2022, there are no direct flights between Russia and Romania. However, aircraft are permitted to land in Romanian airspace in emergency situations.
