NATO fighter shoots down drone over Estonia

A fighter jet of the NATO-led Baltic Air Policing Mission shot down a drone over Estonia on Tuesday, Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur said.

Axar.az reports, citing Delfi, that a drone alert was issued in southern Estonia at midday. Pevkur told the Estonian news website Delfi that it was most likely a Ukrainian drone that had been launched at a target in Russia.

The northwestern region of Russia was attacked by Ukrainian drones on Tuesday, causing traffic disruptions at Pskov Airport and St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo Airport.

The Latvian National Armed Forces (NBS) reported a drone flying in Latvian airspace at midday on Tuesday. Initially, a threat was reported in the municipalities of Kraslava and Ludza. Later, a cell broadcast message was also sent to residents of Preili and Rezekne municipalities, as well as Rezekne.
