Putin hold phone call with Syria’s al-Sharaa

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa spoke by phone on Wednesday.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that the two leaders discussed ways to deepen political dialogue and cooperation in trade and other areas.

According to a Kremlin statement, the two leaders noted the importance of an August 9 memorandum of understanding on the future of Russia’s military bases in Tartous and Hmeimim, reached after 18 months of negotiations.
