Magnitude 5.6 earthquake strikes off Japan

A magnitude 5.6 earthquake has been recorded off the eastern coast of Japan’s Honshu Island.

Axar.az reports, citing foreign media, that according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre, the epicenter was located 225 kilometers south of Ishinomaki, a city with a population of approximately 117,000. The earthquake struck at a depth of 10 kilometers.

There have been no reports of casualties or damage. No tsunami warning has been issued.
