Iran outlines measures to counter US sanctions

Iran’s Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani has outlined the measures Tehran is taking to counter the economic sanctions imposed by the United States.

Axar.az reports, citing Iranian media, that Rouzbehani made the remarks during a briefing.

“Acting in accordance with the principles of economic diplomacy, we are taking effective measures to counter the economic sanctions imposed by the United States. Our main areas of cooperation are transport and transit,” he said.

According to Rouzbehani, Tehran is seeking to expand cooperation with countries in the region, while also developing and advancing through cooperation with regional organizations such as the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and BRICS. The ambassador noted that Tehran considers the sanctions imposed by the United States to be “economic terrorism.”

The diplomat said Iran’s geographical location helps the country withstand sanctions, adding that Tehran maintains relations with 15 countries and cooperates productively with them.
