Armenia’s internationally recognized territory is 29,743 square kilometers, and Azerbaijan’s three exclaves are not included in this territory.

Axar.az reports that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made the remarks.

“I did not talk about the return of Karki. I simply noted that such a territory exists. 29,743 square kilometers is Armenia’s internationally recognized territory. Armenia’s exclaves, including Artsvashen (Bashkend), are also included in this territory. If we do not proceed from this, we are effectively saying that Armenia’s internationally recognized territory is not 29,743 square kilometers but, for example, 29,755 square kilometers. This would indirectly mean declaring war on Azerbaijan.

Why am I saying all this? Despite the fact that we are accused of surrendering territories and treason, why would I do that? Am I a masochist? I am doing all this not to remain in power, but to eliminate the threat. At present, no discussions are being held between Armenia and Azerbaijan regarding the enclaves. Problems related to the delimitation of the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia remain. There are forces both inside and outside the country seeking to disrupt peace and cause escalation,” he said.
