Latvia currently faces a low risk of a direct Russian invasion, but sabotage, cyberattacks and other hybrid operations remain possible.

Axar.az reports that Latvian presidential adviser Martins Dregeris, speaking on behalf of President Edgars Rinkevics, said Latvia and other NATO and EU countries regularly face such activities.

He said Latvia’s security services, National Armed Forces and NATO allies were taking measures to prevent such actions.

“We highly appreciate the political, diplomatic and military efforts of our NATO allies, including the United States, to strengthen regional security,” Dregeris said.
