Slovakia will maintain a level of interaction with Brussels and Washington but will be more independent in decision-making.

Axar.az reports that this was said by the newly elected president of Slovakia, Peter Pellegrini.

"I can guarantee all citizens of Slovakia that the republic stands firm in the European Union and NATO. Nobody can change the course of our foreign policy. But in these organizations, we should act more independently so that our voices are heard," said Pellegrini.
