The risks of the crisis in the Middle East turning into a regional war remain.

Axar.az reports that this statement was made by the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, General Valery Gerasimov.

"The situation in the Middle East is continuously deteriorating. The risks of the crisis turning into a regional war still exist," he said.

Gerasimov added that the difficult situation in the region persists in the areas of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Lebanon, and Yemen:

"The involvement of non-regional states in supporting the parties involved in the war in the Middle East, Lebanon's interference in this matter, and attempts to provoke Iran create dangerous conditions for the expansion of the instability zone in the region.
