CIA Director Bill Burns is set to meet with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Doha to discuss progress toward a potential ceasefire in Gaza and a hostage release deal.

Axar.az, citing The Times of Israel, reports that These talks, facilitated by Qatari and Egyptian mediators, follow previous meetings with Hamas and other regional actors.

Hamas stated that an agreement for a ceasefire and prisoner exchange is possible if Israel stops imposing new conditions.

Negotiations have also been ongoing in Cairo, with representatives from Hamas ally Palestinian Islamic Jihad and the U.S. actively participating. U.S. envoy Adam Boehler is involved in discussions, with meetings in Cairo, and plans to visit Doha.

Despite some progress, significant obstacles remain, particularly regarding Hamas's insistence that a hostage deal should end the war and Israeli skepticism about achieving a resolution soon.

Previous agreements resulted in limited hostage releases, with many captives still unaccounted for.
