NATO has begun construction of a new base in Lapland, Finland, which will serve as a forward post on the north of the Russian border.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by Sweden’s "Svenska Dagbladet" newspaper.

"These forces are the ground troops of the front line. The base in Finland will also host NATO’s command for ground operations. Sweden will oversee the operation of the base," the report states.
