As we reported, on the previous day, James David Vance, the 50th Vice President of the United States, took the oath of office and began his duties.

Axar.az reports that James David Vance, more commonly known by his initials J.D., was born on August 2, 1984, in Middleton, Ohio.

The 40-year-old Vance was given the name James David Bowman at birth, but later adopted his mother’s surname. He is of Scots-Irish descent. Vance was raised by his grandmother due to his mother’s addiction to narcotics. A Protestant by birth, Vance converted to Catholicism in September 2016. After graduating from high school in 2003, Vance served in the United States Marine Corps and later worked as a military journalist. In late 2005, Vance was sent to Iraq for six months as a military correspondent and public relations specialist. The photographs he took during that time are still preserved on one of the Pentagon’s media portals.

After completing his service, James Vance enrolled in a university in Ohio, graduating with honors in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and political science. While studying, Vance began working for Republican Senator Bob Schuler in Ohio, and later for Senator John Cornyn. In 2013, Vance graduated from Yale University, earning a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree. In 2014, he married Usha Chilukuri, the daughter of Indian immigrants. The couple currently has three children.

In 2016, he started working at "Mithril Capital," a firm owned by prominent American businessman and investor Peter Thiel. Vance worked there for a year before returning to Ohio, where he founded a non-profit organization called "Our Ohio Renewal," aimed at helping people suffering from alcoholism, drug addiction, and other dependencies. Due to financial constraints, he was forced to close the organization just two years later. In July 2021, Vance announced his plans to run for the U.S. Senate from Ohio at one of the Republican Party conventions. His candidacy was supported by Donald Trump, and the campaign's primary sponsor was his former boss, investor Peter Thiel, who donated $10 million to the cause, and Vance was elected senator.

On July 5, 2024, Donald Trump officially announced that Vance would be his running mate for vice president. After Donald Trump won the U.S. presidential election, Vance became the Vice President of the United States.

It is worth noting that in 2016, Vance spoke out against Donald Trump, comparing the politician to Adolf Hitler and calling him openly foolish. However, the situation later changed, and for reasons unknown to the public, Vance became an ardent supporter of Trump.
