Qatar may completely halt liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies to the EU if the European Commission refuses to remove key climate protection requirements from the supply chain directive.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by Welt am Sonntag, citing a letter from Saad bin Sherida Al-Kaabi, Qatar’s Minister of Energy and CEO of QatarEnergy.

“In a letter sent to the Belgian government, Al-Kaabi explicitly threatened to cut supplies. The letter was received not only by Belgium but also by other EU countries,” the report stated.
