A mother-of-two killed herself over fears that a video which showed her being drugged and raped would be circulated by the men who carried out the attack, relatives have claimed.

Axar.az reports citing Metro news that, Jenna Johnson, 27, was found dead at her home in the Scottish Highlands town of Thurso after failing to arrive at her mother’s house for lunch.

Relatives say Jenna woke up on December 23 to find herself covered in bruises, scratches and needle marks.

They say Jenna claimed she had been seriously sexually assaulted by one man and raped by another, with two men then alleged to have told her they would publish the video and this would lead to her losing her children.

Police Scotland have insisted there were no suspicious circumstances after Ms Johnson took her own life on January 1.

The 27-year-old’s body was forensically examined in Glasgow after her death, but tests were inconclusive over any sexual assault or rape because so much time had elapsed.

The Daily Record reported that Ms Johnson told her close friends and 21-year-old sister Kelsey who she thought had carried out the assault.

Kelsey said: ‘It seemed a few people in the community knew these two guys had drugged and raped her and filmed it, because they had been boasting about it.

‘They told Jenna they had filmed themselves doing sexual things to her and were threatening to send it to people, saying she’d lose her kids.

‘I don’t know if they were blackmailing her or just enjoying having power over her but she was distraught. Jenna was a loyal friend and totally devoted to her kids.’

One of the men accused by Ms Johnson is also suspected locally to have murdered Stefan Sutherland, 25, who was found dead on a beach after a night out in 2013.

However police insist there were no suspicious circumstances regarding Mr Sutherland’s death, despite his blood allegedly being found on the walls of the suspect’s home.

A Police Scotland spokesman told MailOnline: ‘Officers attended a report of the sudden death of a 27-year-old woman in Thurso on Tuesday, January 1.

‘The circumstances of her death are non-suspicious. Further police enquiries are going to establish the full circumstances relating to this incident.

‘A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal, as is standard for sudden deaths.

‘Our thoughts are with her family at this sad time and they are being provided with support by specialist officers.’

Commenting on the death of Mr Sutherland, Detective Superintendent Colin Carey said: ‘We can confirm following a thorough investigation into the death of Stefan Sutherland in September 2013, there were no suspicious circumstances and as with all sudden deaths a report was sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

‘Further information received since the initial investigation has been subject to thorough review and all findings have been shared with the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service.

‘We will continue to review any new information which is reported to Police Scotland in connection with the death of Stefan Sutherland'
