The famous Afgen genetic diagnosis center has been in Biology Medicine Center since 2012.The CEO of Genetic Diagnosis Center is Azerbaijani, professor, famous genetic scientist in the world, Afiq Bardali.

Axar.az reports that he has discovered the genes of the many diseases and patented them as ‘Bardali Gene’.
There are two sections in the center. One of them is for molecular-genetic analysis and the other is for cytogenetic analysis. In the molecular-genetic section different kinds of methods have been discovered for mutation and microdeletion. But in the other section the analysis of chromosome is done in conversional and other methods. The Genetic Diagnosis Center is the only center in our country, which has both of the sections.

β and α thalassemia, FMF, Glucose-6, fenilketonurics, fibro, Nieamann-Pick diagnoses were put to the patients who applied to the molecular section of the center in the Biology Medicine Center. Moreover, BRCA1 and BRCA2, which cause breast cancer, TP53 which makes oncological illnesses, the reason of the colon diseases APC, and oncology gene KRAS are investigating in this center. As the result of these kind of investigations mutation has been found in mentioned genes and the patients were diagnosed in advance. Many patients were able to escape from fatal illnesses.In the molecular-genetic center of Afgen Diagnosis Center prenatal diagnose is also given after diagnosing chronological diseases.
