The United States has registered a first monkeypox virus-related death in the country on Tuesday, which occured in Texas.

Axar.az informs citing Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).

The organization added it is now trying to determine to what extent the disease has contributed to the death. ''Monkeypox is a serious disease, particularly for those with weakened immune systems,'' the DSHS commissioner warned following the event.
