The historical church located in Kilvar village of Shabran region is on the verge of destruction.

Axar.az informs this was reported to by villagers.

In some sources, this church is presented as an Armenian church.

Nurida Allahyarova, head of the international and public relations department of the State Service for Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture, said in response to a request from our website that the church did not belong to Armenians:

“This church is a Nazran church. In accordance with the relevant decision of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 132, it was included in the list of monuments protected by the state. At the same time, the church was included in the investment list for repairs. The area is regularly cleaned by security guards and employees of the Service. The church was not invaded.
