Ukraine says US security guarantees deal ‘100% ready’

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says a US deal providing security guarantees to Ukraine is “100% ready” and awaiting only a date and location for signing.

Axar.az, citing DW, reports that speaking in Vilnius, he said the agreement would later be sent for ratification to both the US Congress and Ukraine’s parliament.

The announcement comes after the first trilateral talks between Ukraine, the US and Russia in Abu Dhabi aimed at ending the war. While no breakthrough was achieved, Zelensky described the talks as productive and confirmed a new round is scheduled for February 1. He stressed that Ukraine’s territorial integrity remains a red line, amid continued disagreements with Russia over occupied regions.

Despite ongoing negotiations, Russia has intensified missile and drone attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Zelensky appealed for more air defense systems, warning that the country is facing its harshest winter since the full-scale invasion. Meanwhile, Moscow ruled out talks with EU officials, dismissing the bloc’s leadership as ineffective.
