Pashinyan: I will not give up, we need peace!

In this tense regional situation, we need to talk about peace and not confuse it with a ceasefire.

Axar.az reports that this was said by the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan.

"Today we are going through difficult times, but it is important to understand why we have to go this way. We need peace. This is a factor that ensures security, independence, and sovereignty. Many believe that it is impossible to talk about peace in this tense regional situation, but it is precisely in these circumstances that it is necessary to talk about peace and it should not be confused with a ceasefire. "This difficult path goes through internal and external upheavals, and we must cross this path for the sake of statehood, independence, and the future," he said.

He emphasized that the Almaty declaration on the republic's separation from the USSR in 1991 was one of the main factors of Armenia's independence:

"I am criticized for basing my foreign and regional policy on the 1991 Almaty declaration and related documents. Many are calling for the abandonment of politics based on these documents. But the point is that the declaration and related documents are one of the main factors of Armenia's independence and establish the political and legal foundations of Armenia's independence."

Pashinyan noted that calls to give up this policy are calls to give up independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
