I don't think we have a desire in Congress to consider repealing the 907th amendment, but there are exceptions. Every administration, Republican and Democrat, has decided to waive it when conditions have been demanded. We are currently continuing to analyze the current situation. I think that we have very strong business relations with Baku. These relations exist especially in the areas of security and cooperation, which the "907 amendment" cannot prevent.
Axar.az reports that James O'Brien, the US Secretary of State's assistant for European and Eurasian affairs, said this in his statement to journalists.
The US Assistant Secretary of State emphasized that the two countries are finding very effective ways to interact with each other.
"We have very close and deep cooperation in many areas. So I don't think it's a hindrance. This is just one of the challenges we are working together to solve," said James O'Brien.
